Summary: Learning to live in daylight.
Why: In the Coldfire fandom, torch owns my soul. Now, some might say that's because the only Coldfire fanfic I've read has been by torch. I would argue that this little fact doesn't negate the other, which is that torch is simply amazing. This story in particular has entered my own personal canon. To me, this is absolutely what happened after the events of the book. This story is long and plotty and wonderful. I love the emotion between Gerald and Damien and the lovely way that torch acknowledges the strengths and realities of each man. Even though it's a story dealing with the relationship between them, in some ways it's just as much about the men that they are, and that's what makes it such a strong story. torch gives Damien and Gerald all the credit they deserve.
