Summary: Schwarz gets to kidnap members of Weiß and have sex with them all the time. It's practically a genre of Weiß Kreuz fiction. But this isn't fair to Weiß. They need the opportunity to kidnap and have sex with Schwarz!
Why: Meta/crack fic! Yes, it's meta, commenting on the general fandom's tendency toward this exact kind of plot. But given the plot, it's also crack. It's the kind of thing that probably won't be very amusing if you're not in the fandom, but if you know enough about the fandom to have encountered these things before, then it's hilarious!

Summary: Through the looking glass and into the fire...Ken wakes up to find out his life could have been different, cleaner. Only how clean is it,and will it be worth the past he knows to live in this future?
Why: I have to admit, I have a bit of a fasination with stories like this that deal with alternate realities. I like seeing where the characters would end up, what they would be, and this story provides me with a lot of interesting possibilities. The fact that the story is Ken-centric is also a huge draw for me. Mami-san does a great job of characterizing my favorite character. I also really liked the idea behind the resolution of the story. It's an interesting one, and one that I think worked really well in the context of the story.

Summary: When Weiss are ordered to deal with a target who only ever lets his guard down when alone with a woman, Ken finds himself in a very unenviable position indeed...
Why: I'm a huge Ken fan, so I'm always thrilled to find good Ken-centric fic. This story has a really great Ken voice, and a fast-paced blend of humor and action that kept me reading avidly the entire time.

Summary: "Princes, you realize, are terribly inconvenient creatures."
Why: As you may have noticed, this is a het story in a primarily yaoi fandom. However, don't go running away just yet! I read this story forever ago, and I'll admit I was kind of reluctant about it. I just kept seeing it pop up in recommendations, over and over and over again, until finally I gave up and gave it a chance. It's not a decision I regret. The author does a wonderful job of creating a connection between Schuldig and Aya-chan. The whole thing is subtly done, and I loved the fairytale elements to it. It's the only het I've ever read for the Weiss Kreuz fandom, but it's more than just the pairing that makes it unique. This story is gorgeous, from start to finish.

Summary: Like any doctor, House had become familiar with the phenomenon ofbeing shaken awake in the early hours of the morning. That shaking was usually accompanied by a cup of coffee however, not an automatic pistol.
Why: Yup, another weird crossover. I really do like these things, especially when the character voices are just so right on, as they are here. I'll also admit that I get some perverse pleasure at House's befuddlement over Crawford the precog. It's nice to see that there are some things that House doesn't get. ;)

Summary: This had to be the worst strip club in Japan. Maybe in the Eastern Hemisphere. AU Stripper!Aya fic.
Why: I clicked on this without reading what it was about, and then I nearly hit the back button when I realized that not only was it AU, which I wasn't really feeling in the mood for, but that it AU Stripper!Aya fic. However, as so often happens, my eyes started reading without my consent, and I was hooked. MistressRenet does a great job of shaping the AU so that it gives off the same feel as the series, and an even better job at portraying the characters in just the right way. Aya/Yohji is not a pairing I generally go looking for, but with fic like this, I probably should go looking more often!

Summary: That was how the game was played, and Yohji was a master player. Everyone who thought they knew him knew that.
Why: This story was written with a basic premise that I never really thought I would see: Yohji as a virgin. The great thing is, I ended up completely convinced. Every once and a while there was a little bump that might temporarily jolt me out of the idea, but for the most part, Eleanor K. pulled the idea off with style. I really enjoyed the way that she wrote both Yohji and Aya, even though I would never claim to be a big fan of the pairing. The author calls it a crack fic, but although the idea may be crack, the story is just a thousand kinds of love. ♥
