Summary: As much as you love him, your son has always been a little bit of a puzzle to you.
Why: I've been on a Shishido/Ohtori kick for the past couple days, and this is one of the results of that kick. This story is written in 2nd person, from the point of view of Ohtori's father. Don't let the 2nd person scare you off; Monnie does a wonderful job with it. I barely even noticed it, personally. Plus, its use provides all these lovely descriptions that were a perfect reminder just how much I love Ohtori and Shishido, and why. I also really enjoyed the slightly different take on just how Shishido and Ohtori met and became friends. This story doesn't follow the cliche of the two of them not interacting until Shishido's fall from the Regulars, and I appreciated that. Really, I appreciated this entire story. The author expresses her doubts about it at the beginning, but I have no doubts. This story made me a very, very happy fangirl.
