Summary: In which Mal unbuilds some walls; Jayne learns to kiss on the mouth; and nobody gets left behind.
Why: I was feeling a little depressed this afternoon, so to be entirely truthful, I almost clicked the back button as soon as I started reading this. My (admittedly limited) experience with Jayne/Mal fic has always indicated something hot but slightly depressing, and I really wasn't in the mood for that. However, something made me keep reading past that initial dread of angst, and I'm so glad I did. This story did a wonderful job of drawing me in and then keeping me there until the end. It also wasn't nearly as dark as I had been expecting. Instead, it was perfect. There was angst where there needed to be angst, but there was also a lot of sweetness and a lot of laughs along the way. I loved the way that the author wrote all the characters and their relationships. In short, completely contrary to my expectations, this story was exactly what I needed (and wanted!) to read.

Summary: "That is exactly why you do your clinic hours."
Why: Very nice characterization of all the characters, but particularly Cuddy. I liked the way that she just matter-of-factly accepted the situation and got on with her job which so fits with my image of her. I also particularly liked the ending. So true! (And how great is it that something interesting happens at the clinic and House misses it all? :D)
